Over the past eight seasons the Buckingham Browne & Nichols varsity soccer team has compiled a record of 69-33-17 in the Independent School League under its head coach Jesse Sarzana. The Independent School League is one of the strongest soccer leagues in the region and is composed of sixteen schools. We are proud to have developed players to enable them to compete at the next level. Cornell, Colby, Hobart, Brandeis, Princeton, Lehigh, and Bates are some of the schools in which graduating players have attended.
Previously the Buckingham Browne & Nichols varsity soccer team was co-champion of the league (2004). Additionally, in that same year they won the New England Class A title. Both were first time accomplishments for the school, although Buckingham Browne & Nichols had won a Class B title in 1992.
In 2003, Buckingham Browne & Nichols was invited to the Class B New England Prep School tournament but lost in the quarter finals.
This past fall (2007) the boys' team was able to capture another ISL title. The team recorded 11 shutouts, conceded 6 goals and scored 37 while compiling a record of 14-1. The team also advanced to the New England Class A tournament: Quarter final win against NMH (3-2): Semi final win against Nobles (1-0): Finals loss to Avon Old Farms (1-0 overtime). |
